Zheng Nails (Part B)

Last time, we talked about the most common way to wear Guzheng nails (aka: picks) – place a nail near one end of the tape but leaving 1.5-2 cm. Roll up the short end to stick it to your finger, and then roll up the long end of the tape to wrap around your finger. My teacher taught me another method, which I like way more. The method is shown below. First, stick the short end of the tape to the nail. Second, place your finger on the nail. Third, roll up the long end to wrap the tape around your finger. This way, your finger tip lays on top of the tape but not directly on the nail. The tape provides friction; hence, it reduces the movement and enhances stability. I have been using this method for a long time. From my experience, this method is stabler than the traditional method, enabling my fingers to move smoothly with solid energy.
